Christie, Agatha - 'Peril at End House' (First UK Edition)
First UK edition, first printing. Collins Crime Club, London 1932. Black cloth (first or second state of first printing). 8vo., 252 pp. + 4pp. adverts.
'Peril At End House' was Agatha Christie’s seventh Poirot book, written at the beginning of a particularly prolific period of her life as she finally began to accept that being an author was now her profession. It uses a variety of Christie’s best known techniques and the plot was described by The New York Times Book Review in 1932 as “diabolically clever”. (agathachristie.com)
Book is in good+ condition except some foxing to few pages and fading to spine. Minor rubbing to edges, some signs of shelfware and mild bumping to the board corners.
Facsimile dust jacket is fine and now protected by a new transparent archival sleeve.
This book is now 92 years old and it is difficult to get very good or fine copies and almost impossible to get a copy with the first edition dustjacket. So this book might be a relatively cheap alternative for a collector who wants to complete his/her collection.
